"This is a fundamental project for the city and it consolidates the Gardens of Palácio de Cristal as a leisure area for all ages", said Rui Moreira, Mayor of Porto during the Press Conference held on site of the Book Fair, the 28 September.

The programme includes a literary festival devoted to several authors and works, two exhibits to be held at the Municipal Gallery, under the homage to the poetic oeuvre of Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen; debates with renowned international guests, the international cinema cycle; creative writing workshops and spoken word sessions.

Concurrently, entertainment events will take place throughout the day with varied schedules, ranging from classical and contemporary dance to installations in close correlation to the work of Sophia.
