Porto Blues Fest takes over Porto on 18th and 19th May

Porto Blues Fest will literally make you cry the blues on Friday and Saturday evenings, next 18th and 19th May, by the acoustic shell in the Gardens of Palácio de Cristal.

Pat Cohen, Tatanka and Chino & The Big Bet, Budda, Maria João and the invitee Pedro Abrunhosa will take over the stage to make you sing or dance the blues for this 2nd edition of Porto Blues fest.

Tickets are available for purchase online and in the usual places. One day ticket costs 20 euros and the pass for two days can be acquired at 25 euros.

Friday, 18th May

10 pm: North & South Blues Connection (POR)


António Casado (guitarra), João André (baixo), Hugo Danin (bateria) and Tatanka, producer and leadear of The Black Mamba have created this blue's project.

11.30 pm: Pat "The Mother of The Blues" Cohen (USA)


For years, Pat Cohen would sing the Blues all six nights per week all over New Orleans, namely the iconic House of Blues, till hurricane Katrina washed away both her house and her career.

She moved to North Carolina and started to sing. During the gigs, "Mother Blues" expresses her artistic sensibilities filled with emotion and thrill.

Saturday, 19th May

10 pm: Chino & The Big Bet (ESP)

In recent years, Chino has become one of the most significant representatives of the blues and swing scene in Barcelona, with his unmatched slide guitar.

Together with his band The Big Bet, consisting of bassist Rod Deville and drummer Giggs Nother, their talent have been showcased in festivals throughout Spain and in other European countries.

11.30 pm: Budda Power Blues & Maria João feat Pedro Abrunhosa (POR)

Budda Power Blues e Maria João have decided to join their talent and have produced and released the record "The Blues Experience". Maria João delivers Budda's songs and lyrics (they sometimes sing in duet)

Loads of talent on stage with invitee Pedro Abrunhosa at Palácio de Cristal.
