The programme of Porto Urban Art is about to launch another Call for artistic interventions in the city’s public space. This new phase of this project is curated by Hazul, the artist from Porto. The initiative is implemented by the municipal company Ágora – Cultura e Desporto do Porto. The novelty is that a new Wall will be made available to the entire community; also, five projects will be put forward, by local artists.

The new set of urban art interventions will be presented until the end of December, and the new wall in the city that will accommodate this artistic genre is located nearby the viaduct of Santa Luzia. Everyone can find the best way to express their creativity, as it is open to the entire community.

In parallel, two other walls in the city of Porto will be used to showcase urban art: in Rua da Alegria, which will be by direct invitation to an artist, and another in Foz, at the Travessa da Senhora da Luz, which will work in a free and rotating regime, according to the previously selected proposals.

It is worth mentioning that the new Open Call for the Mural Coletivo da Restauração is ongoing till 20th December, and as in previous editions, each artist or collective can submit up to two proposals to showcase in two or four sustainable supports modules od the Gardens of Palácio de Cristal, which extends up to 60 metres throughout the Rua da Restauração. This time, though, the rule is that there is colour uniformity in the street art palette. The chosen colour is green, with several shades also included.

Ágora will grant 500 euros per intervention as an allowance (for two or four modules). Proposals and the application form must be submitted until 23h59 of the 20th December for the email arteurbana@agoraporto.pt.

The jury’s decision will be made public the next day, on 21st December. The selected street art will remain in place for one year.
