The return to normalcy is phased and demands that everyone has special attention to comply with the civic behaviour, which some people disregard lately.

Parking is one of those situations as traffic movement has decreased in the city. This does not mean that people can park without observing legal regulation.

Another situation is that everyone is to comply with citizenship rules also regarding the correct garbage disposal in containers.

In addition, there are new rules for social mingling and circulation outside. Porto City Hall urges everyone to comply with these new social distancing rules, as well, during the pandemic.

The end of the Emergency State will be on 2nd May, which does not mean that as of 3rd May the rules of social distancing no longer apply. There are special measures to comply with during the pandemic, namely using protective masks, respect respiratory hygiene and cough etiquette as well as avoiding unnecessary trips.

Regarding traffic and parking, the Municipal Police is putting in place a series of traffic rules, namely fining drivers flouting the rules, abusive parking, which has increased during the lockdown and causing safety constraints.

All police forces will, aside from fighting the pandemic, return to monitoring actions so that safety and compliance with legal norm are observed, such as incorrect garbage disposal, parking and traffic movement.
