Porto Business School and Faculdade de Economia among the best business schools in Europe

Porto Business School (PBS) and Faculdade de Economia da Universidade do Porto (FEP) are among the best business schools in Europe. The results of the ranking, recently disclosed by the Financial Times (FT), reveal that both schools, which appear nominated as “University of Porto | FEP-PBS”, rose six places in the ranking considering last year, currently occupying the 53rd position.

PBS highlights, in a statement that, “unlike the other schools present in the ranking, Porto Business School competes in only three of the four categories that contribute to this classification”. Furthermore, it notes that, “considering the close and fruitful collaboration between Porto Business School and Faculdade de Economia da Universidade do Porto, both entities appear nominated together”.

In the same statement, José Esteves, dean of Porto Business School, highlights that “It is a great pride for Porto Business School to be back at the Financial Times ranking”. “We continue to register positive developments, which reflects our ability to improve and adjust to the demands of a world in constant changing, particularly with digital development and the commitment to sustainability”, he adds.

The director of FEP, Óscar Afonso, notes, that “this result reflects FEP’s ongoing commitment to academic excellence and stands out the school as a reference on the European set.”

In addition to Porto Business School, four more Portuguese Business Schools are among the 90 bests in Europe. The Nova School of Business and Economics, in Lisbon, is the highest placed school in the ranking, in 21st place, followed by Católica – Lisbon. ISCTE – Instituto Universitário de Lisboa (44th) and ISEG (59th), are also in the FT list, in a top led by countries such as France, United Kingdom and Spain.
