The 4th edition of the Open House will run from June 30 to July 1. The registration of volunteers are now open till April 13. Around 250 volunteers will be needed to help organise this great event.

The Open House provides a journey of discovery for visitors regarding the collective cultural heritage of the three municipalities that are part of the Atlantic Front: Porto, Gaia and Matosinhos.

The application form shall be submitted trough the official event website in www.openhouseporto.com

This year's edition is organised by the Architecture House - Portuguese Centre of Architecture and is aimed at the consolidation of roadmaps, covering 65 locations, five more than the previous edition and 70% of which will for the first time be open to the public.

This event is "a unique opportunity to enjoy unparalleled places, old and new, left behind by time, renovated or rebuilt", the curators of the 2018 Open House edition state.

This initiative is jointly organised by the City Hall of Porto, Gaia and Matosinhos, and intends to continue to affirm its role as one of the most significant cultural moments of the year, with a ring of novelty.

So as to hold this event as original and unprecedented as possible, the curators will focus on "architectures for industrial purposes", a clear statement that "the cities we inherited were capable of absorbing and accommodating the diverse usages that stimulate and mobilise them", the Open House commissioners declared.

Like in previous editions, there will also be a parallel roadmap of activities, which is part of the "Kaleidoscope Programme". This programme features a different approach to locations and the bet is on accessibility, inclusion, children and families as well as the interdisciplinary fields of artistic expression.
