MEXE is moving around the city with different artistic languages

Shows, performances in public spaces, installations and screening of documentaries are the segments representing the MEXE - International Meeting of Art and Community, running from 18 to 24 September at various locations throughout the city.
The IV Edition of MEXE is themed "Cidade- Corpo Colectivo" (City - Collective Body), and more than to think the city it is about living the city in an active way.
According to the organisation, the city is "a space of expansion of the citizens and its actions".
This event gathers annually around 1000 participants of 22 countries and more than 15.000 viewers around one hundred actions in 30 different places in the city of Porto.
It is founded on the assumption that "MEXER (MIX) with and in the city represents extending the space of creation and that translates into an effort for real citizenship".
The workshops will take place in various locations, namely the Casa D'Artes do Bonfim, the CCOP, the Cinema Trindade, the Associação Malmequeres de Noêda, the espaço Mira, the Rivoli, the Teatro Carlos Alberto and several public spaces from Bonfim and Campanhã till Lordelo and the Historic Centre.
