Metro do Porto and PSP hold monitoring and intervention surveillance this Easter period

Metro do Porto and PSP (Public Security Police) carry a combined passenger control, between 9th and 13th April, in a joint operation to monitor passenger travels in district borders.

This action is taken under the government guidelines that stipulate that trips between districts are forbidden during Easter. These restrictions do not apply to essential workers or anyone that has a valid reason that have the supporting document issued by the employer.

"Monitoring and intervention surveillance by PSP and Metro do Porto is carried out in every intermunicipal border areas of each of the network's six lines, especially the Yellow Line (D) and the crossing of the Luiz I Bridge, between Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia", informs Metro do Porto in a statement. 

In addition, the company also warns the travel restrictions also apply to pedestrian crossings, on both decks bridges, except to those that hold a requisite document.

Furthermore, both entities urge people to act accordingly, with common and civic sense, "as the common goal is to ensure social isolation, thus promoting citizen's safety and health.

The Bus Company, STCP marked the travel restrictions as well, pointing out that all passengers and bus drivers must travel with the requisite documents that stated the need to travel, according to the Law.
