Mayor Rui Moreira speaks about a sustainable Porto in Vienna

Mayor of Porto, Rui Moreira, was the main speaker at the most significant European event devoted to Urban Sustainability, in the framework of the Urban Future Global Conference, which is organised in Vienna and is running till 2 March.

Moreira was the main lecturer of the session "How to lead change in your city", in the opening day of the event, where cities share and explain which policies they are making towards a sustainable future.

The panel was also shared by Greg Clark, UK's Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Strategy, Andrea Reimer, Mayor of Vancouver, Canada, Lennert Middelkoop, Councilman in charge of the Urban Development and Economic Affairs of Utrecht, in The Netherlands, and Mary Skelton Roberts, Assistant Director for Climate, from the U.S. organization Barr Foundation.

The panel debated the topic of sustainability through experience sharing, involving several cities that are truly committed to preparing the urban space of the future.

In Vienna, Rui Moreira explained which projects Porto is developing in this context, and the ongoing actions in three domains, including environment, housing and mobility.

The Urban Future Global Conference gathers more than three thousand participants from 400 cities all over the world, till Friday, 2 March.
