International Technical Footwear Congress will take place in Porto next May

Porto will play host to the 20th International conference on industrial footwear on 17 and 18 May.

Professionals from different countries will gather at the Invicta for the 20th International Technical Footwear Congress, a very much awaited event with a wide range of applicants and dozens of journalists who have expressed their interest in joining this conference.

The 2018 edition is themed "From Fashion to Factory: a new technological age", and the debate sessions have already been scheduled as follows: Session 1 - New products, New services linked to consumers' needs, Session 2 - Intelligent development and manufacturing: towards a technological revolution, Session 3 - Sustainability, supply chain transparency and regulatory trends impacting on factories, Session 4 - Logistics, Advanced retail and marketing and Session 5 - Human centred factories and a new way of management.

According to APICCAPS, the Association of Portuguese Footwear, Components, Leather Goods Manufacturers, 95 applications from 19 top countries within the footwear industry were submitted to participate in the congress.

The best proposals submitted by countries such as China, India, Italy, Mexico, Portugal and Spain will be selected by eight experts of the decision committee.

The first panel of speakers will be announced by the end of February.
