International Puppet Festival is back to Municipal Theatre in Porto

Several debut shows, big names in the Puppet Shapes industry and the enhancement of Isabel Alves Costa Grant are the highlights of the International Puppet Festival in the city of Porto.

The 28th FIMP edition, presented in Rivoli yesterday, will take to the stage of Porto Municipal Theatre (TMP) a dozen shows between 13 and 21 October. The Festival extends till 29 October in other locations in town.

This edition of FIMP features a greater number of shows, three workshops, five work-in-progress (free entry) and subtitled session in Portuguese and in English, as well as Portuguese Sign Language interpretation.

From 13 October, both the Rivoli and Campo Alegre present "Ressacs" by Agnès Limbos and the begian Company Gare Centrale, "Gaspard" by Begian Une Tribu Collectif (Noémie Vincart and Michyel Villé), "Gobo.Digital Glossary" from Russian Collective Akhe Theatre, "La Domus di Pulcinella" by Italian Gaspare Nasuto and "Quiet motors" by French Pierre Bastien.

Portuguese presentations include "Bonecos de Santo Aleixo" by Centro Dramático de Évora, "Arcano" by Porto Puppet Theatre, "Manipula#Som" by Radar 360º, "Sleeping Beauty" by Teatro de Ferro and "Este não é o nariz de Gogol, mas podia ser... Com um toque de Jacques Prévert" by A Tarumba.
