The International Festival of Organ and Sacred Music of the Metropolitan Area and Diocese of Porto (FIOMS) is back for its third edition and ready to celebrate the region's organistic heritage.

Between October 19 and November 19, FIOMS promotes 44 concerts in several churches in the diocese of Porto and in ten municipalities in the Greater Porto region.

Porto, Maia, Amarante, Felgueiras, Valongo, Gondomar, Vila Nova de Gaia, Arouca, Oliveira de Azeméis and Vila do Conde will be the common home of a rich and diverse musical experience, within the scope of sacred music, which simultaneously aims to seduce new audiences and invite them to discover the timelessness of the pipe organ.

Porto will host 20 concerts, from the atrium of the Paços do Concelho to the Sé Cathedral, passing through the choral-symphonic concert in São João Novo. Maia hosts seven concerts, which begin with the Maia Classical Orchestra. Also, from Vila Nova de Gaia, Arouca and Oliveira de Azeméis in the south, Vila do Conde, Amarante and Felgueiras in the north, and Gondomar and Valongo in the east, all municipalities will receive concerts in some of the most emblematic churches in the region, always with free admission.

The main objective of the international festival is to preserve, promote and enhance the vast and rich organistic heritage of the Metropolitan Area and Diocese of Porto, stimulating the interest of the population in sacred music, both vocal and organ.

All programming and other information are available on the festival page.
