Gastronomic event in Porto set the table in D. João I Square

One of the most popular gastronomic events in Porto is back to D. João I Square. This is the fifth time that both people from Porto and visitors to town can have a bit of something that excites the desire for more.

The event is themed "Tascas na Baixa" (small bar or tavern downtown) and it will run from 28 September to 8 October.

For 11 days, appetizers and a wide gamut of beers will stimulate the appetite for Portuguese food. Tasty bits of the reputed Francesinha (one of Bourdain's favourite dishes in Porto), tripe, octopus salad, ham and codfish fritters, just to name a few.

There will be live cooking sessions with pairings by reputed chefs who will recreate traditional dishes. This is a high gastronomy initiative with the cooperation of master brewers.

Also, the "Beer Talks" initiative is the time for learn a bit more about the ancient art of brewery.

The event "Tascas na Baixa" is sponsored by Super Bock, it opens 28 September at 7 pm.

During working days, between noon and 5 pm, the entrance is free. Outside those hours, entrance fee is 3 euros and it includes one drink.
