Global Time Out asked readers and editors of the magazine to choose the best sites in their cities. Foz, in Porto, stands out as one of the “coolest” places in the world in 2021.

It’s true to say that “the large streets to run and ride a bike”, and the beaches, perfect for a “family walk, surf or relax all by yourself”, are some of Foz best features, now recognised in Time Out International article.

The magazine also highlights that Porto’s westernmost part of the city is a place where tradition and modernity combine without cancelling each other out. “New restaurants and concept stores continue to emerge, but Foz preserves its noble architecture, old monuments, historical bakeries and patisseries, grocery stores and traditional markets”.

Foz occupies the 38th position in the ranking “The 49 coolest neighbourhoods in the world”, preceded in the 34th position by Anjos, in Lisbon.

Time Out Porto explains that every year, readers, and editors of global Time Out are invited to identify the perfect location to have fun, to enjoy the gastronomy, art and culture in their cities.

First on the 2021 global list is Nørrebro, Copenhagen (Denmark); in second place is the Andersonville neighbourhood in Chicago (USA); and in third place is Jongno 3-ga, in the South Korean city of Seoul.

27 thousand readers al over the world participated in the questionnaire, as well as several experts, including the editors of Time Out.
