"Between dread and prettiness, this is a cinema affair" is the motto of the Film Cycle devoted to the acclaimed and controversial French Director Jean-Claude Brisseau, which begins today at Theatre Campo Alegre jointly with Medeia Filmes.

From today till 7 February, Campo Alegre Theatre will screen four of his most recent films: "The Girl from Nowhere" (French: La Fille de nulle part), a 2012 French drama film and the trilogy "Sex taboos", on eroticism and the nature of female pleasure, which includes "Secret Things" (French: Choses Secrètes) is a 2002 French erotic thriller film, "The Exterminating Angels" (French: Les Anges Exterminateurs) is a 2006 film, and "À l'Aventure", this latter has not yet premiered in Portugal.

Jean-Claude Brisseau is the author of a remarkable filmography, falling on both romantic and erotic films. He has been awarded important prizes (Filmmaker of the year in 2002 by France Culture) and has also been criticized, as is the case of the latest controversy on sexual harassment charges in the past.
