Diálogo is the name of the programmatic section that the ninth edition of Trengo will dedicate to contemporary circus creators in the Ibero-American space. The Porto festival therefore seeks works by women to claim the role of women in the sector.

The initiative, supported by the Ibero-American Performing Arts Support Fund Iberescena, will select three shows from the countries covered by the entity: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, El Salvador, Spain, Guatemala, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay. Each project will have two presentations at the festival, between June 25th and 30th.

In the year in which the 50th anniversary of the 25th of April is celebrated, Trengo intends to reinforce one of the hallmarks of the date: the statement of culture and artistic creation as an expression of freedom and a fundamental tool of democracy. Woman then emerge “as a symbol of freedom and revolution, of affirmation of equal rights and opportunities”, explains the organization.

All details regarding this call are available at this link.

Trengo is a festival organized by the circus company Erva Daninha, in Porto, since 2016, always with the support of Porto City Hall, through Ágora. It has new circus languages as a common factor in all programming and maintains a strong relationship with young creators.
