Pedro Mesquita and Paula Mourão Gonçalves debut "Abyssinia's Treasure" exhibition at Portuguese Photography Centre (CPF), located at the old Municipal Prison, May 26 at 9:30 pm.

The past of this once great state on earth is evoked in this exhibit, a crossroad between the recent past and present time.

This journey log is the manifestation of journalist Pedro Mesquita passion for photography and wife Paula Mourão Gonçalves passion for writing.

The journey log was written when the couple was invited to visit Ethiopia in the framework of the Photography Biennial in Addis Ababa.

The striking portraits of the everyday life in the country, long seen as a poor nation and endemically affected by hunger, help to get to know better what Ethiopia was and still is, as a reminder to the international community that there is still hope.
