Eight selected projects will lead the entrepreneurial potential in Porto

Two months ago, Porto City Hall has invited the community to present varied proposals through the ScaleUp project for further action in the context of the city's entrepreneurial ecosystem, having the potential to meet the dynamics of innovation and technology.

The municipality has made 70 thousand euros available to finance the eight selected projects that span from a "Vlog Show", to pre-accelerated growth programmes, comprising women's presence and participation in science and technology, the future of work, a FabLab linked to local businesses.

Selected proposals start to be implemented this month and will run until 31 December 2017.

Below find a list of the selected projects:

Founders Founders - Founder Meets Founder (Vlog Show)

Basic format of a talk show, which includes six episodes. Each episode features the founder of a ScaleUp from Porto that "talks" to other founders. The main aim being knowledge sharing among entrepreneurs. Also, to value local potentialities through international promotion.

OPO'lab - OPEN DAYS @ FAB'lab Porto

The Open Days at FAB Lab of Porto (OPO'lab) shifts towards the transfer of data and skills among participants and make better use of own resources.

Open Days are an opportunity for the community to become acquainted with fablabs and its impact in society.

Tinker City Association - Made in Baixa

"Made in Baixa" is a project that helps to ensure that companies, schools, universities and startUps are focused in experimenting new interaction and production systems, thus promoting the "circular economy".

IEEE Portugal - EMBS Portugal Chapter - Startup Pirates Porto - Digital Health Edition

Project that supports the development, validation and acceptance of business ideas, targeted at digital goods within the health market segment.

This initiative comprises two stages. In the first stage, the event features a special guest providing a building opportunity for networking and showcasing innovative projects in the city of Porto.

During the second stage, there will be a weekly programme, under which 30 participants will be granted mentoring and training in the context of Digital health project validation.

AlumniEI FEUP - Make or Break by Porto Summer of Code

It started as a web-programming for students under the Porto Summer of Code, and currently grew into an event for all types of creative people, hackers, students, workers, designers, gamers, programmers and technology enthusiasts.
