Rivoli features the dance performance "Dancing Grandmothers" 3 November, at 9, 30 pm. This will be a world first, which combines the urban modern world and the rural setting in South Korea, a mix of flowers, stripes and dots, folklore and electronics, movements, video, young and old. These are the ingredients to transforming the stage in Rivoli in a giant dance floor.

The dancers from the Eun-Me Ahn Company join the Korean grandmothers, offering the audience a unique journey through time and movement.

Eun-Me Ahn was born in South Korea in 1963 and began her creative career in contemporary dance at the age of 11. Inspired by Isadora Duncan, Eun-Me Ahn was a dancer at the Korean Modern Dance Company and the Korean Contemporary Dance Company, in Seoul, from 1986 to 1992.

In 1999 she formed her own Company, the Daegu Metropolitan City Dance Company, for which she has signed her own performances. In 2011, she created the show "Dancing Grandmothers", based on the lives and gestures of Korean grandmothers.

On 2 November, there will be a workshop titled "Grandmother's rice", between 11 am and 12 am. Recognised as one of the healthiest gastronomies in the world, the grandmothers will present participants one of the most important dishes in South Korea: the Kimbap.

On 3 November, there will be a pre-show warm-up themed "Aquecimento Paralelo" [parallel warm-up] between 7 pm and 8 pm.

Both activities require advance registration at paralelo.tmp@cm-porto.pt until 24 prior to the show. The pre-warm up session is free on production of tickets to the "Dancing Grandmothers" performance.
