Lisbon Metropolitan Orchestra and the Choir of the Faculty of Arts of Porto University will go on stage at Coliseu Porto on 21 April, starting at 9.30 pm, to celebrate spring.

"As a literary work based film, Franz Liszt was driven by Dante Alighieri's Divine Comedy and composed a brilliant symphony in 1855. The imagery of the Tuscan poet, full of moral allegories and mystic figures, mirrors a bizarre narration built on an audacious dialogue with the music sheet. Musical artwork expressed by a turmoil of feelings inspired by the idea of Inferno, purgatory and ascent to the stars? light, the sublime uplift reminiscent of Paradise echoed by the choir of voices that sing a song to the Virgin Mary", as stated by Coliseu Porto.

One of the most beautiful melodies ever will be included in the Spring Concert repertoire, with Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's piano concerto no. 21 in C major (K. 467), second movement, which was part of the "Elvira Madigan" film soundtrack, directed by the Swedish Bo Widerberg in 1967.

Maestro Pedro Amaral will conduct the Orchestra, accompanied by the piano soloist Inês Costa who graduated at the Royal College of Art in London.

The Choir of the Faculty of Arts will be on stage direct by José Luís Borges Coelho.
