Carlos Drummond de Andrade (1902-1987), the most important and influential Brazilian poet of the twentieth century is the topic of a lecture promoted by Porto Book fair today, conducted by university professor Clara Rowland, expert in Brazilian Literature and Comparative Literature.

The session is access free, programmed by Anabela Mota Ribeiro, starting at 7 pm in Carlos Alberto Chapel, in the Gardens of Cristal Palace.

A line of the song "Cantiga de Enganar" - o mundo não vale o mundo, meu bem - will be the moto to think of Drummond's oeuvre by reading and skimming through some of his less known poems from his vast work.

The poem "A Máquina do Mundo" by Carlos Drummond de Andrade, with a clear reference to Canto IV of "The Lusiads", the epic poem by Luís de Camões, which was published in the book "Claro Enigma" is somewhat connected to "Mensagem", a classical poem from Fernando Pessoa.
