Christian Rizzo presents his last part of the trilogy "Le Syndrome Ian" centred on different types of dances, 15 September at Rivoli, starting at 9.30 pm.

The first performance entitled "Based on a True Story", which was presented at Teatro Rivoli, in September 2015, focused on community dancers as a group.

In "Ad Noctum", the second part of this trilogy, Rizzo explored dancing in pairs, the symbiosis between two bodies, with a pair of dancers on stage.

The last performance of this trilogy "Le Syndrome Ian" is built around the so-called "evening dances". The also director of the famous Centre Chorégraphique National de Montpellier, in France, goes back to his personal history to create a choreographic plot that enhances the fundamentals of that dancing, danced all over the world every night.

The year 1979 marks the beginning of the entire plot, when England is attracted by the intriguing sounds of the band Joy Division, and especially the lead singer Ian Curtis.

Bodies take over dance floors of the time dancing to the sound of a dark and poetic tune. Curtis's haunting or even haunted voice echoes in nightclubs; the perfect combination of post-punk movement and the most frantic dance rhythms.

"Le Syndrome Ian" gathers on stage nine dancers who frenziedly pulsate from start to finish under different timings.

Christian Rizzo was born in 1965, in Cannes, France. He is the current director of the Centre Chorégraphique National de Montpellier Languedoc-Roussillon.
