Candidate theses for the Porto Economy Award must be submitted by November 30

The deadline for submitting applications for the third edition of the Porto Economy Award is about to end. The Municipality seeks academic dissertations, or other original research works, that focus on a topic of relevance and interest to the city's economy. Interested candidates must apply by next Thursday, November 30.

The propose of the Porto Economy Award is to promote research on the local and regional economy, fostering fresh perspectives. Through this initiative, students and researchers can present their insights into Porto's economy, providing the community and local authorities from a new perspective.

Strategies for economic development, attracting investment, attracting and retaining talent, competitiveness, knowledge and innovation networks, entrepreneurship, and economic diplomacy are examples of areas that contribute to and impact the daily activities of the city and those who live, study, work, undertake, and invest in it

In the 2023 edition, the first prize will be worth three thousand euros, the second will be worth 1,500 euros and the third best work will be awarded a prize of one thousand euros.

Academic works developed in Portuguese or English over the last three years, published or defended between November 30, 2020 and November 30, 2023, are eligible.
