Airlines are announcing new routes to and from Porto, with different destinations, from 2023 onwards.

Austrian Airlines was the first, now the low-cost airlines Ryanair and easyJet have also announced new services for next year for Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport.

Ryanair announced the addition of a new route next summer between Porto and the Irish city of Shannon, with a 2-weekly service. “With Easter and the Summer of 2023 fast approaching, we are delighted to bring even more options and value to our customers in Northern Portugal with the addition of this new Shannon route to our summer schedule,” Dara Brady said in a statement, highlighting the wonders of the Emerald Island and Central and West of Ireland, such as historic castles or scenic cruises of the region's cliffs and caves.

Ryanair had recently announced the addition of another new route, between Porto and Bristol, in the United Kingdom, with three services per week taking off in April 2023.

easyJet has also announced new routes for Portugal, including a service from Porto to Glasgow, Scotland. The new route starts operating from March 31 of next year. For José Lopes, the Portugal country manager, “this expansion seeks to offer more to the airline's customers, satisfying the needs of being able to book flights to the destinations they want, in several Portuguese airports”.

For Glasgow, easyJet flights will have a 2-weekly service, on Mondays and Fridays.
