"So long, farewell and good luck" to 1300 students of the University of Porto studying abroad

"The Adventure begins" [Começar a aventura] for over 1300 students of the University of Porto (UP), who will have an opportunity to both enhanced educational knowledge and living a life changing experience, by moving to another country and faculty to pursue their academic degree.

Songs from all over the world bid farewell to University of Porto outgoing students for the academic year 2018-2019, as mobility students have gathered at the Rectory to share their plans, expectations and to sign the grant for student mobility, from all levels of education, Bachelor, Master and Doctorate programmes.

Universities from 43 countries will welcome students from UP in the context of academic mobility.

At a time when the benefits of studying abroad are beyond dispute, the largest share of internationally mobile students ever are packed to travel to every corner of the globe, stating their "will to meet different countries and learn about their culture" or the importance and the need to "face new challenges and learn to adapt" so as to be better prepared for the job market.

Italy, Spain, Poland, Brazil and German are the top five destinations regarding the OUT going mobility of Porto University for the academic year 2018/2019. Other sought after destinations are Taiwan, China, South Korea, Colombia, Peru and Jordan, in the framework of the bilateral partnerships that U.Porto has established with higher education institutions worldwide.

Also, data shows that last academic year only, the University of Porto welcomed over 4400 international students, either for a full degree or for one mobility period.
