10000 years later between Venus and Mars, the collection of António Cachola brings contemporary art to Porto

Porto Municipal Gallery opens "10000 anos depois entre Vénus e Marte" exhibit [10000 years later between Venus and Mars], on 9 December, starting at 4 pm at Porto Municipal Gallery.

The exhibit is designed based on the acquis of António Cachola's Collection, an important private collection of contemporary art, stored at the Contemporary Art Museum in Elvas (MACE) and at the National Contemporary Art Museum in Chiado.

The collection features painting, drawing, engraving, sculpture and video installation, in a total number of 650 objets d'art by over one hundred artists.

This exhibit, curated by João Laia, marks the 10th anniversary of the MACE/Cachola's Collection partnership.

The display features works of art by artists such as Ana Manso, Ana Santos, André Romão, Andreia Santana, António Júlio Duarte, Carla Filipe, Catarina Dias, Claire Santa Coloma, Diana Policarpo, Diogo Evangelista, Fernanda Fragateiro, Filipa César, Francisco Tropa, Gabriel Abrantes, Gil Heitor Cortesão, Joana Escoval, Joana Vasconcelos, João Maria Gusmão e Pedro Paiva, João Queiroz, João Tabarra, Luís Lázaro Matos, Mariana Caló e Francisco Queimadela, Mariana Silva, Marta Soares, Mauro Cerqueira, Musa paradisiaca, Nuno da Luz, Pedro Barateiro, Pedro Neves Marques, Rita Ferreira, Vasco Araújo and Von Calhau!

Some of these artists will take part in the performances that will kick-off the opening of the exhibition, to be held at Cinema Passos Manuel, starting at 11 pm, on 9 December, namely Nuno da Luz, Vera Mota, Carla Filipe, Joana Escoval, Pedro Barateiro, Diana Policarpo, Von Calhau! and Lynce (djset).
