U.Porto awarded in Internationalization

The University of Porto will be distinguished by the European Association for International Education (EAIE) with the Institutional Award for Innovation in Internationalisation. The award annually distinguishes European higher education institutions that are actively engaged in innovative internationalization strategies.

This award is the recognition of the international promotion of policies that the University of Porto has carried out in recent years, particularly with regard to the participation and coordination of international mobility projects of students, teachers and employees.

According to the association of international relations professionals of European universities, "The University of Porto is an example of good practice in all aspects of the internationalization process. Recently, the University has fostered its internal cooperation, investing in integrated and collaborative actions between the international Office and other departments. It also exponentially increased its international visibility through the coordination of various projects of the Erasmus + and Erasmus Mundus programme."

The award will be officially handed over to the University of Porto Business School in the 28th annual conference of the European Association for International Education, which this year will take place in Liverpool (England) from 13 to 16 September.

To recall that in the academic year 2015/16 only, the University of Porto received through international mobility programs, over 2,000 students from 91 different countries, as well as 1200 students from U.Porto that have experienced a period of study in more than 40 different countries.
