The winners of the Best Of Wine Tourism 2024 contest, promoted by Porto, within the scope of the Great Wine Capitals - International Network of Capitals of Large Vineyards, are already known. The announcement was made at the closing of the network's annual meeting on Thursday night in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Quinta do Bomfim, with the Merenda na Vinha project, was awarded a Global award, also announced by the Great Wine Capitals that night.

This contest aims to reward excellence in wine tourism. The Best Of Wine Tourism awards, which this year celebrate their 20th edition, distinguish the best wine tourism projects from around the world, inspiring the wine industry to reach new heights of innovation and visitor experience.

"The quality of the projects applying for the awards and the interest shown in the contest, which, this year, broke participation records, validate and reinforce the bet that the Municipality of Porto is making in the wine tourism segment, reflected, moreover, in our Future Vision for the Sustainability of the Destination", said to "Porto." the Councillor for Tourism and Internationalization of the Municipality of Porto, Catarina Santos Cunha.

The winners of the Porto region in the different categories were:
- Accommodation: Quinta Nova de Nossa Senhora do Carmo;
- Architecture and Landscape: Quinta do Bomfim (Merenda na Vinha);
- Art and Culture: Caves Cockburn's;
- Innovative Experiences in Wine Tourism: The Wine School (WOW);
- Sustainable Practices in Wine Tourism: Six Senses Douro Valley;
- Wine Restaurants: Seixo Restaurant by Vasco Coelho Santos;
- Wine Tourism Services: Quinta de Soalheiro and Caves Graham's (ex aequo).

Meanwhile, the public voting period for the People's Choice Award is currently open, which will run until November 13, through the platform available for this purpose. This award will translate the public vote into your favourite wine tourism projects. The election will be made among the regional winners of the Best of Wine Tourism 2024 awards from all member cities, globally recognized for their wines and wine regions, which are part of the Great Wine Capitals network.
