The future of medical research in the treatment and prevention of diseases will pass through Centro de Ciência e Inovação, to be installed at the Centro Hospitalar Universitário de São João (CHUSJ), in a building built from scratch.

This structure, which will be completed in the second half of 2023, will optimize the logistical conditions for conducting clinical trials, making the CHUSJ even more competitive in Europe for attracting new clinical trials in areas of high differentiation, could be read in a statement from the health unit.

Clinical trials are a way to bridge the result of the most advanced biomedical lab research into clinical reality, allowing testing of new ways of treating or preventing diseases, frequent and rare.

Budgeted at more than 200 thousand euros, the future Centro de Ciência e Inovação will be built through the patronage of Super Bock, Maria Fernanda Amorim and Grupo Fuste, as well as the support of the law firm TELLES.
