Pass "Porto." the best way to discover the city

The Pass Porto. was officially presented today by the Tourism Association of Porto (ATP). It is a passport that will allow for better discovering the city, widening options of choice beyond the focus on Historical Centre/Ribeira. It is divided into three segments: cultural sites, icons and landmarks. It will be provided together with the Porto.Card and can be purchased for a symbolic value.

The Pass Porto. will be the tourist's or visitor's official document to the city of Porto, issued by the city itself. It allows the traveler to have access to various realities (museums, thematic Centres, monuments and urban icons, among others) and the registration of those visits through different topical stamps. It can be used throughout the year without restriction.

"Such initiatives are very interesting because they encourage tourists to visit more places, expanding their visit and thus decentralizing tourists", said the minister of Economy, Manuel Caldeira Cabral, who has visited today the ATP facilities together with the mayor of Porto, Rui Moreira, and the councilman of Tourism, Manuel Aranha.

"The country is growing 10% in terms of tourist numbers, Porto is above that, approximately 15% and hospitality revenues are growing 28%, making this one of the areas to have a larger growth in the country. "It is Porto, it is the North", the minister added when symbolically receiving the first Pass Porto.

Anyone can get the Pass Porto., but its target customers are the tourists, specifically families with children and young adults. One of the purposes of this initiative is that the most visited typical tourist routes and monuments and points of interest should become a family activity. 

It also intends to tackle tourist concentration in the city centre guiding them to other areas, also visit worthy (Avenida da Boavista, Foz do Douro, marginal River, among others).

All monuments and landmarks that require paid entry are included in this passport and are covered in Porto.Card offers. All visitors once having completed the passport with the registration of all stamps must present themselves at the Centre of the Tourist Office showing the passport and will be awarded a kit Porto.
