The Monte Aventino Sports Complex is hosting the Porto III ITF W75, a competition on the International Tennis Federation (ITF) calendar, from this Sunday 18th until the 25th.

The main draw of the competition features six players who have already made the top-100 of the WTA (Women's Tennis Association). The group is headed by Marina Bassols Ribera, current world number 106. The Catalan tennis player is joined by Hungary's Ana Bondar, currently ranked 119th (who was once 50th), Serbia's Olga Danilovic (122nd), Australia's Kimberly Birrell (124th), Germany's Anna-Lena Friedsam (now 132nd, but once 45th), France's Fiona Ferro (142nd and former 39th) and Romania's Elena Gabriela Ruse (146th and former 51st). Ukrainian Daria Snigur, winner of the Wimbledon junior tournament in 2019, and Swiss Celine Naef, last year's champion in Porto, will also be present.

Portuguese tennis will be represented by Francisca Jorge, seven-time national champion and currently ranked 200th in the women's world top, her sister Matilde Jorge, and also Elizabet Hamaliy and Teresa Franco Dias.

With a total of EUR 60,000 in prize money, the Porto III ITF W75 ends on the afternoon of the 25th with the singles final. The public has free access to the indoor courts at Monte Aventino for all matches.

This is the third competition to take place at the municipal complex in recent weeks. The Porto I W75+H was played between 21 and 28 January, with victory for Jessica Bouzas Maneiro. The Spaniard was then in the Porto II W50 finals, held between 28 January and 4 February, but was beaten by Slovak Rebecca Sramkova.
