Entrepreneurial community meets every month looking for new and strengthened dynamics

Startup Portugal brings to Porto monthly meetings for entrepreneurs, investors and other players, national and international, of the entrepreneurship ecosystem. The “Above & Beyond Hangouts”, in partnership with UPTEC - Science and Technology Park of University of Porto and with the support of the Porto City Council, debuts this Wednesday, February 22, at 6 pm, at Easy at Selina.

For Ricardo Valente, councillor for Economy, Employment and Entrepreneurship, “this initiative is aligned with the objective of reinforcing and boosting the articulation between the various stakeholders that intervene in the entrepreneurship ecosystem of the city and the North region, creating and enhancing new dynamics”.

The theme of this month is the internationalization of startups and the moment will be used to launch the applications for the internationalization program of Startup Portugal – Business Abroad.

“Above & Beyond Hangouts” takes place simultaneously in Lisbon, with interaction between the two rooms. The event is free, but registration is required to attend, and the sessions will also be streamed through the Zoom platform.

All meetings include “a thematic session with guests from the ecosystem who discuss with each other and with assistance various themes with relevance to the community as well as a moment of informal coexistence that promotes the strengthening of relations between those present”.

After a year with events in Lisbon, “Above & Beyond Hangouts” expands to Porto to, explains the CEO of Startup Portugal, in addition to decentralizing and expanding the initiative, “give more access and visibility to the entrepreneurial community of the North”.

And, “we will continue to give access to the content, digitally, as we have done so far, to anyone who wants to join this event, from any part of Portugal or the world”, assures António Dias Martins.

This year, Startup Portugal also counts with the 351 Portuguese Startup Community as a partner.
