The Campanhã Swimming Pools Complex is hosting the 10th International Adapted Swimming Tournament this weekend, 16 and 17 March, with the participation of 135 athletes from 16 national clubs.

Following the success of last year's edition, which saw European records achieved and a world record broken, the municipal company Ágora, in partnership with the Associação de Natação do Norte de Portugal (ANNP - Northern Portugal Swimming Association) and Futebol Clube do Porto, is promoting the tenth edition of the tournament, approved by the World Para Swimming (WPS).

Divided into two rounds, on Saturday from 3:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Sunday from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., the tournament is open to all athletes (national and/or foreign) representing Portuguese Swimming Federation (FPN) clubs who have a valid medical examination at the time of the competition.

Besides encouraging the practice of swimming and the development of the skills of people with physical and/or intellectual disabilities in the municipality, the competition's main aim is to provide equal opportunities through its inclusive approach.

Participation in this competition aims at a possible qualification for championships such as the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, the World Para Swimming Championships and the Down Syndrome Swimming European Championships (DSISO).

Admission is free. The medals and trophies ceremony will take place at the end of the competition, after 2 p.m. on Sunday.
