Casa da Música brings back silent movies to Porto, with the best movies of all time. It's Invicta.Música.films. cycle.

The Invicta.Música.films. cycle kicked off on 15th February, and concludes tomorrow, 18th. This event features a film we think is a must go see film: the crime movie "O Táxi 9297", by Reinaldo Ferreira, journalist mostly known as the Repórter X.
To watch and hear at Casa da Música, Sala Suggia, at 7.30pm.

Igor C. Silva was invited to create a musical score for the Portuguese silent movie of 1927. The film portrays the scandal that hit the Portuguese society when an actress was strangled by her former-lover inside a taxi, in Lisbon. The crime hit the headlines with the investigation that Reporter X carried out on his own and that later led to the arrest of the perpetrator. That reporter was Reinaldo Ferreira, who directed "O Táxi 9297", inspired by those events and which became a classic film of Portuguese silent cinema.

The film was directed at the Invicta Film Studios, in Porto, and premiered in Cinema Batalha in 1927. Now, the film has an original soundtrack, specially written for the Remix Ensemble by composer from Porto, Igor C. Silva.
