Carla Queirós, former Teacher and currently Assistant to the Councillor of Social Cohesion, Education and Housing of Porto City Hall, is the proud collector of circa 100 copies of "The Little Prince" (Le Petit Prince) novella by French aristocrat, writer, poet, and pioneering aviator Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, which was first published in April 1943.

This is one of the most famous books on childhood and the values of love and Carla Queirós has been collecting copies of the book for twenty years now, and has gathered around 100 copies, from all over the world.

Her collection includes editions from Argentina, Romania, China, Spain, Poland, Japan, Italy, Britain, Check Republic and from Portugal, both in Portuguese and in the Mirandese dialect, just to name a few.

Carla read "Le petit Prince" for the first time at the age of 17 and confides that what prompted her attention were the drawings on the book. "I was actually not very good at drawing and the illustrations on the book are almost childish beautiful and they vary according to the edition", Carla Queirós added in an interview to the Observador.

This month, she decided to share her collection on the Web, by sharing one page of one book a day. The feedback has been quite favourable and she was challenged to hold an exhibition on her work. We can hardly wait!!

Carla doesn't mind lending the books, she actually does it with enthusiasm but assures the books are not for sale.

"Le petit Prince" has become one of the best-selling and most translated books ever published; it has been voted the best book of the 20th century in France and it was translated into 300 languages and dialects.

In addition, the book has been adapted to numerous art forms and media, namely audio recordings, radio plays, live stage, film, television, ballet, and opera.
