Porto Airport will have a renovated Instrument Landing System (ILS), which is a highly accurate radio signal navigation aid consisting of two antennas which transmit signals to receivers in the aircraft cockpit.
The ILS will be deployed at Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport to "ensure better conditions to the infrastructure, namely when there is mist", stated NAV - Navegação Aérea de Portugal to News Agency Lusa, adding that "Porto Airport has all the necessary equipment needed to its operations".
