What about a cultural journey with a different twist to it? Porto Customs inaugurates a digital immersive exhibit on Klimt and Monet's artwork, featuring holograms and 360 degree view projections. The exhibit will be on show at Porto Customs from 21st August until 15th November. Entrance is free to children up to five years old.

Art aficionados or curious visitors can amble around the digital immersive exhibit and engage in the artwork by two of the most iconic painters of the first two decades of the 20th century: Monet, the founder of French Impressionist painting and Gustav Klimt, the Austrian symbolist painter and one of the most prominent members of the Vienna Secession movement.

The immersive exhibition is a specialized exhibition genre in museums, whose purpose is to engage visitors in a three-dimensionally reconstructed space, thus creating the illusion of time and place.

What Porto Customs offers is a digitally-oriented art exhibition, and also a "new recreational teaching method", as explained in a statement by atelier OCUBO, the entity in charge of the project.

The "Impressive Monet" bestows the opportunity to almost "enter" the painter's canvas, namely his most iconic perceptions before nature, especially as applied to landscape painting.

The segment on "Brilliant Klimt" offers the view of the quintessential painting "The Kiss" as the starting point to explore Klimt's artwork.

The Immersivus Gallery is located at the Porto Customs Underground area, and it is open from Wednesday to Sunday, between 10.30am and 8pm.

Children up to five years old will be admitted free of charge, and ticket prices range from 5 to 9 euros.

All pandemic preventive measures are in place, in compliance with the rules issued by the Health Authorities.
