Never as today is this plot so close to all of us. The perception that something is somewhat violently "to begin anew"!

While at home, you can still go to the theatre. Danton's Death is online today, at 10pm and it is freely accessible for viewing till Sunday ends. This clashing narrative, staged by Nuno Cardoso, will take you into the guts of French Revolution.

"Will this clock never stop?", Danton asks. This is the basic meaning of "revolution", i.e., to face the challenges of a new beginning.

Danton's Death, by Georg Büchner is set during the French Revolution and it provides audiences with fragmentation of traditional theatrical form, mixing short and long, frantic and meditative scenes.

This home production was Nuno Cardoso's first as artistic director of the TNSJ. Danton's Death has always confronted us with difficult, frightening questions. "How long will humankind continue to devour their own body?" "Will this clock never stop?"
