The city of Porto is ready to host the final four of the inaugural season of the UEFA Nations League, whose matches will also be played in Guimarães, from 5 to 9 June, as stated by the Mayor of Porto, Rui Moreira, during a press conference held at Porto City Hall, on 12 April.

The format and schedule of the UEFA Nations League was formally approved by the UEFA Executive Committee on 4 December 2014; so, each league is divided into four groups of three or four teams, and each team plays four or six matches within their group (using the home-and-away round-robin format), on double matchdays in September, October and November 2018.

The four group winners of League A qualify for the Nations League Finals in June 2019, which is played in a knockout format, consisting of the semi-finals, third place play-off, and final.

The Football teams of Portugal, Switzerland, Holland and England will play the final four of the inaugural season of the UEFA Nations League in the cities of Porto and Guimarães.

"A lot has been done already; we do not work on the spur of the moment. This is not smoke and mirrors or for the sake of appearances. It is an event to be enjoyed by everyone", declared Rui Moreira on the occasion of the tournament last 12 of April, at the City Hall, in Porto.

"This is the first time that the city of Porto hosts such a sports event and we will also host the 2020 UEFA Super Cup. In two years' time, no such thing had ever happened in Porto", Mayor Rui Moreira enthused, highlighting that Porto "can handle the pressure" of organising such a relevant sports event.

The "Fan Meeting Points" will be established at Avenida dos Aliados and at Francisco Sá Carneiro Square (aka Praça Velásquez) for Portuguese fans. Swiss fans will meet at Porto Customs and at Bonjóia.

In Guimarães, the British fans will gather at the Multiusos de Guimarães and the Dutch fans at the City Park.

Tickets for the final four of the UEFA Nations League will be on sale at the UEFA website. Each fan can buy up to four tickets per match.

The novelty is the UEFA Super Sunday, comprising tickets that grant access to the final or to the third-place game.
