Porto is part of a 21 selection of nominees in the category World's Leading City Break Destination 2020, where cities as Almaty (Kazakhstan), Athens (Greece), Cape Town (South Africa), Cuenca (Ecuador), Dubai (United Arab Emirates), Geneva (Switzerland), Hong Kong, Las Vegas (United States), Lima (Peru), Lisbon (Portugal), Los Angeles (United States), Medellin (Colombia), Moscow (Russia), New York (United States), Oaxaca (Mexico), Orlando (United States), Playa del Carmen (Mexico), San José (Costa Rica), Sydney (Australia) and Tokyo (Japan).

The World Travel Awards winners will be announced on 27 November, in Moscow.

In addition to this nomination, Porto and the North of Portugal are nominated for the prestigious World Travel Awards, in the category "Europe's Leading Heritage Destination 2020". Voting time ended on 24th September and the results will be announced on 27th November.

It is worth enhancing that Porto City Hall will launch, till the end of 2022, a set of tourism promotional videos to highlight the city's attributes both at national and international levels. There will be 22 promotional city videos and the first two have already been released, on "Gastronomy and Wines" and "Handicraft".
