The latest confinement requires new restrictions to comply with, in order to help stop the dissemination of Covid-19. Still, culture will be a click away to make a difference in lockdown days. As such, Coliseu Porto Ageas and São João National Theatre will deliver live streaming sessions of their shows.

If circus arts is one of your most favoured shows, the Coliseu do Porto Xmas Circus provides an extension of this year’s performances until 31st January. From Coliseu’s arena to your couch, via streaming or on demand, in accordance with the timetable that best suits you, choose from the best acrobatics, illusionism, trapeze, clown, Chinese pole, parkour and juggling”, as stated by Coliseu Porto Ageas on its website.

There is one fixed price of 9 euros, which can be purchased in the the Ticketline Live Stage platform.

This is one of the best ways to support artists and culture, as these have been extremely hard months for that sector, one of the most severely hit since the pandemic started, in March 2020.

As of 15th January, when the new restrictions measures entered in place, due to the State of Emergency, Coliseu do Porto Ageas suspended all activities, which includes the ticket office.

São João National Theatre (TNSJ) is also working on change and that means that doors are open to the public, just online, as has happened during the first confinement, especially in March and in April 2020.

The performance “As Três Irmãs”, by Anton Tchékhov, directed by Carlos Pimenta and coproduced by the TNSJ and by Ensemble – Sociedade de Atores, which was on stage at Teatro Carlos Alberto and will be now streamed online at the BOL platform.

This is the first, but it will not be the last show to be broadcasted online; as long as it is not possible to hold performances with public participation, the TNSJ will deliver “new shows through digital channels”, also promoting new activities in the Educational Centre”.

Theatre performances will be available in high resolution and with multicameras, and the price is two euros. Tickets can be purchased here.
