Voting to reinstate Porto’s title as the Best City Destination of Europe is already possible

After being considered the 2022 Best City Destination of Europe, Porto is back among the European nominees for the World Travel Awards.

The polls to help Invicta reinstate the title of “Best European Destination” and be elected “Best European Destination for an Urban Getaway”, “Best European Cultural Destination” and “Best European Seaside Metropolitan Destination” are open until the 20th of August.

Known as the “Oscars” of tourism, the World Travel Awards will again elect the best destinations in Europe.

The councillor for Tourism and Internationalisation highlights the importance of this nomination as the “reflection of a collective work to develop the city” and that “it represents for us an added challenge”.

“We are committed to seizing new segments and to offer authentic and enriching experiences to our visitors and to the residents, as well as keep making Porto one of the most sustainable and awarded destinations of the world”, Catarina Santos Cunha highlights.

In this edition, Porto and the Northern Region is competing in the “Best Meeting and Conference Destination” category.

The World Travel Awards are a global initiative that recognises and awards excellence in travel and tourism bases on voting by professionals of the travel industry, social media, and consumers from all over the world.

In 2022, in the global competition, Porto was elected “Best City Destination of the World”.
