The Porto Municipal Theatre is hosting this Saturday at 9.30 p.m., the show " The Ventriloquists convention", by the Franco-Austrian creator Gisèle Vienne, in the Grand Auditorium of Rivoli, to the closing of this year's Porto International Puppet Festival.

In "The Ventriloquists convention", nine Ventriloquists from different social and professional contexts join for a debate on working with their characters-puppets and how often it is seen by others as a strange and even disturbing element.

The work is inspired by the world's largest Ventriloquists convention held in the state of Kentucky, in the United States, next to Haven Vent Museum, a place that is also the cemetery for the puppets. The figure of the ventriloquist is presented in layers, from a dialogue game with and between their multiple voices - natural and artificial, and the dolls are the second skin that will reveal actual psychological mazes with their authors.

The theater invites to the usual post-show conversation with Joan Manarte, therapist/voice trainer and singer, and soon after, to attend the PITA Understage concert (at 11.30 p.m. in the Rivoli under-Stage), the musician that has composed the music for the show, together with Stephen O'Malley.
