Porto is increasingly an attractive destination for investments, as a result of "a value based proposition built on the supply of skilled human resources, excellent infrastructure, enterprising ecosystem, intercultural education, and the recognised quality of life".

This point of reference to the positive momentum of the city of Porto is made by Ricardo Valente, economic and social development councilman of Porto City Hall, during the workshop "Investing in Property in Portugal".

This event is sponsored by the Portuguese-French Chamber of Industry and Commerce, and the purpose is to describe Real Estate market in Portugal, an environment full of professional opportunities for French citizens, "the foreign citizens who invest the most in real estate in Portugal", according to the organisation.

Some of the big international poolings operating in Porto are the French Groups Natixis or Webhelp, and also Euronext, Blip, Critical Software or Vestas, "which highlight the unprecedented international economic expansion and the reinvigoration of the city's entrepreneurial spirit", councilman for economic and social development stated.

Ricardo Valente has also noted that the significant investments due for Campanhã will contribute to the creation of a new development centre as well as a new urban centre, alongside the 11 Urban Recovery Areas in the realisation of a territory of excellence to live, work and invest.

This ongoing urban rehabilitation has granted Porto the recognition of one of the top three Southern European cities to invest by "fdi Intelligence".

Porto is also among the top five cities better placed to host EMA, councilman Valente observed.
