UPTEC scaled-up company Knok raises a total investment of 1.7 million euros

knok, a scale up company of UPTEC – Science and Technology Park of Porto has just finished an investment round of 1.7 million euros. This capital injection will be applied in increasing globalisation and the development of a video consultation platform to facilitate the doctor-patient communication.

The company was founded in 2015 by José Bastos, alumnus of the Faculty of Economy of the University of Porto (FEP) e da Porto Business School, and has partnerships with hospitals, health organisations and insurance companies, such as Europ Assistance, AdvanceCare, S.A. and Medicare, Grupo Lusíadas Saúde and NOS Telecomunicações.

The UPTEC incubated company holds offices in Porto and in London and all over the world, as well, namely in Brazil, South Africa and Angola, just to mention a few.

Since the beginning of October, it is part of the British NHS – National Health Service purchase network and it is preparing to enter the Indian and the Italian markets.

Knok managed to secure this investment round, led by the Social Impact Fund Mustard Seed MAZE, which also relies on the participation of the Social Innovation Fund, by FascinanteFólio and Ryse Asset Management. Since it started doing business, the company from Porto, knok has accumulated over 2.9 million euros in funding.
