University of Porto is Portugal's Best Higher Education Institution

For the fifth consecutive year, the University of Porto (UP) stands out as the best at national level in the QS World University Ranking 2018, one of the most reputable rankings for Higher Education.

From the previous year, UP moved up 22 positions. More than 3.500 education institutions were assessed at worldwide level and UP is ranked as number 301, making it one of the best higher education institutions in the world.

Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) holds first place together with Stanford and Harvard. The University of Lisbon holds number 305 and Universidade Nova de Lisboa is number 361.

The University of Porto ranks 301 as a result of various indicators combined, namely academic reputation (ranks 220) and reputation among employers (ranks 238).

It is also the best Portuguese representation in the average number of quotes per Professor (ranks 208).
