U. Porto cooperates with the new Chamber of Commerce Portugal-China SME

The U.Porto and the recently created Chamber of Commerce Portugal-China SME (CCPC-PME) signed a cooperation agreement on 19th November, with the purpose of implementing joint programmes and initiatives in the scientific, cultural areas and recruitment of foreign students.

This cooperation is valid for the next two years and both the U.Porto and the CCPC-PME commit to cooperate in the “organisation of events that are of mutual interest within the academic community and the Alumni, based on internationalisation and bringing people closer”.

The new Chamber of Commerce Portugal-China PME has a mission to deliver support to Portuguese SME that are interested in exporting or importing to China. The Chamber is headquartered in Condeixa-a-Nova, and has delegations in Lisbon and in Porto, as well as in several Chinese provinces. The CCPC-PME is currently working on the creation of an investment Fund for the agri-food industry and the tourism sector, which can amount to 30 million euros.

The ceremony to mark the Signing of the Cooperation Protocol was held in the Sala do Conselho of the Rectory of the University of Porto, and relied on the presences of the rector of the university of Porto, António de Sousa Pereira, and the president of the Chamber of Commerce Portugal-China PME, Y Ping Chow.
