This event is held under the first edition of "Chef at Bolhão Healthy Choices", jointly organised with Portal Vida Ativa and the Higher Institute of Hotel Management and Tourism of Porto.

All the events that take place at Bolhão Temporary market are organised by the "Gabinete do Mercado do Bolhão" [Bolhão Market Office, free translation], the entity established at the end of 2014 by Mayor of Porto, Rui Moreira, whose main goal is to closely monitor the transition of both merchants and tenants of Bolhão to the Temporary facilities and also assist them when the time to move to the historic Market comes.

Bolhão Market premises and building are undergoing long due renovation works, as the market was settled around 1839 and is crossed by a large wetland, forming a sort of water bubble, hence the designation "bolhão" (which translates somewhat as "big blob"). The place had never received any type of refurbishment works.

The Bolhão Market was inaugurated in 1914 and its main aim was the regrouping of the merchants that sold their fresh vegetables in different spots of the village. The building features a neo-classical architecture style; each door leads to an inner courtyard, which is surrounded on two levels by arcades.
