The University of Porto and the Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the EU organise the summit themed “Fostering the Union through Culture and the Arts”. The two day online event will be held on 29th March and on 30th March, at 9 am (GMT time). Follow this link or view it on YouTube. No registration is required.

While the pandemic is still very much in the world’s agenda, the post-COVID-19 era calls for reforms at various levels, and higher education institutions play a vital role in this process, as citizens will be required to rethink the way people interact with each other and how they deal with the Other.

The University of Porto and the Portuguese National Plan for the Arts organise a summit to debate the challenges ahead as regards innovative thinking and positioning in the world, what new possibilities lie in the post pandemic times and how to deal with them. The two day online event will be held on 29th and on 30th March, at 9 am (GMT time).

“This Summit stems from the idea that providing higher education ecosystems — students, researchers, teaching and non-teaching staff, as well as communities outside the campi — free access to cultural heritage, exposure to contemporary artistic discourses, and opportunities for expression through artistic experiences will contribute to the construction of a university culture at once scientific and artistic, guided by the principles of constant innovation, attention to the Other and ecological responsibility.”, as stated by the organisation.

The Summit is jointly organised by the University of Porto and the Portuguese National Plan for the Arts.
