The company A Turma takes to the stage at the Theatre Carlos Alberto (TeCA), between 26th and 29th November. The theatre company presents three shows, with the premiere of Airbnb & Nuvens “Uma rádio novela” on Thursday, 26th November, directed by Manuel Tur with a text by Luísa Costa Gomes. The cycle includes the play “Alma”, directed by Tiago Correia, and concludes with “Wake Up”, a monologue based on the text “Wake Up and Smell the Coffee”, by Eric Bogosian, and co-created by António Afonso Parra and Luís Araújo.

The “Rádio novela”by Airbnb & Nuvens pictures a country where economic instability is joined by increased unemployment, but still hoping for a better future.

This show was scheduled to premiere on 14th November at the Casa das Artes in Vila Nova de Famalicão, but it was cancelled and debuts today and repeats tomorrow at TeCA, at 7pm.

The play “Alma”, authored by Tiago Correia, approaches “the light at the end of the tunnel” that one can see in difficult moments. The play debuted in September, in the Teatro Municipal da Guarda, and approaches themes as solitude, and trust in friendship and in love.

The play was awarded the Grande Prémio de Teatro Português SPA 2018. “Alma”, by Tiago Correia takes to the stage on 28th November and 29th at 10.30am.

The play “Wake Up: um grito de ajuda”, with a text by Eric Bogosian, closes the cycle. The monologue is delivered by António Afonso Parra – who is also the co-creator of the play, jointly with Luís Araújo –, raises awareness to the unmanageability of information nowadays, highlighting how fast news travel today, making humans increasingly apart.

Wake Up takes to the stages on 26th and 27th November, at 9pm.
